The British Association of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (BAPEN) has launched a new web based Malnutrition Self Screening Tool designed to help adults living in the community to identify their own risk of malnutrition. It is based on weight, body mass index (BMI) and history of recent weight loss, using criteria already incorporated into the 'Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool' ('MUST').
Individuals identified as being at risk of malnutrition can download the dietary advice sheet 'Your Guide to Making the Most of Your Food' which was developed by the Managing Adult Malnutrition in the Community panel.
The new Malnutrition Self Screening Tool can be accessed at www.malnutritionselfscreening.org
